I was originally going to do a tutorial for this one as well, but I kind of got into things and forgot to take pictures...I also apparently forgot to pick up elastic. So that is why it is only 98% done. I need it for the gloves and booties.
I based the pattern off a 9 mos old onesie that I enlarged so that is should fit 10-12 mos. The child was just born in February, so it should be plenty big, but just in case of a growth spurt I made it bigger than it should need to be. The child is put into the costume from the crotch area, which seals with Velcro, and there is a Velcro notch in the back to give room for his head. There is a button on the back to attach or detach the tail for sitting purposes. This is all made from silk, fake fur, plastic eyes, and imitation suede.
This costume would have been easier if I didn't have to line it, but the opposite side of the fake fur is quite itchy!
